Legacy Donates Two Gators to St. John’s MedFlight & METS Ambulance Service

August 31, 2011

Two John Deere Gator XUV 825i’s set posed in front of the St. John’s MedFlight helicopter, custom rigged to hold crash carts – made to transport patients quickly from the helicopter or ambulance to the temporary modular St. John’s Mercy Regional Hospital.

Avery Suthers, manager of the Legacy Farm and Lawn Joplin location, recalls “After the tornado, we did all we could to help; chainsaw sharpening stations, transports – but this idea is one that we knew would help for the long-term, and we really wanted to pursue it.  The Gator helps patients receive treatment quicker – and if you’re in a MedFlight chopper or a METS ambulance, every second counts.”

The keys to the two Gators were handed over in a presentation on the St. John’s MedFlight helipad on August 31, 2011.
